Gonzito's Blog on 12/4
Today is the last day of class. Learn quite a bit from the mock commercials that we made in class. I learn how to work the boom mic, I did some acting, learned some camera work, and how to set up green screens. This was a fun class and I would take this class again hopefully next time I can learn more than this time around. We are only making one commercial and thats for the San Jose Flea Market, we will shoot on December 13 from 8 - 5. Looking forward to that and to see my old friends that still work there.

Today in class I was with the Advertising team. We all discussed how we are going to get our idea for the Flea Market into production. We got the Green Light for the Flea Market. And apparently we will do a small production piece for Fly Right after all.

10/23
Today in class we were broken up in groups with the advertising department and we discussed their pitches they made to us. I am in the flea market group and us as a production didn't like their ideas for the flea market. It seems that they were not trying to get new customers but trying to get new venders to come in which is not what the flea market wanted. We are all meeting up as a group to decide what idea we will actually produce some time this week. I also did my second attempt at story boarding in which I drew up the scenes for the flea market commercial spot. My first attempt at story boarding I was working with Fontaine to draw up scenes for the last mock commercial we did in class.

A few weeks ago in class we made a mock video for STA travel agency. For the project I held the boom microphone and was the gaffer. For a scene I did my second attempt at acting in which I was the boss and I was yelling at the talent in the scene. I had fun with this class project and would like to do more projects like this in class.

Gonzito's Begining Blog
The first day was interesting in a sense, I didn't know what to expect when I signed up for the class. I'm just excited because I get to learn about production and thats what interests me the most. I am looking forward to making commercials and learning about the production process from the start to the end. I am also excited about working with clients which is good experience to have, especially when I graduate.

I was able to meet my group today, I know one of the members from a previous class and Sasha still got my name wrong. She stilled called me Carlos which was my nickname from last semester. But I was able to meet the other 4 memebers. We all worked together on the flyright mock commercial and then came up with ideas for the flea market commercial.

Today I was a few minutes late for class, but I was able to use my grip skills once again. I went down with Nestry to get two green screens, two A frames, and C locks(I think thats the name) but anyway. I helped him bring the stuff up to the classroom. I went to my group and I was the talent for the mock commercial spoof we did in class. The commercial was about flyright and Are and I did a good job with the commercial. We also talked to John Detar from the flea and he gave us some info about what he wanted in the flea market commercial. I was able to learn about the items I helped bring up to the classroom. I learned about the green screens, the A frames, the C grip things, the boom microphone, I learned what they all were and there function. Today's class was fun and very informal. Looking forward to work and to the weekend. Go SJSU this saturday and I'm out till next time!

Gonzito's blog on 9/11
In today's class we discussed the two client commercial ideas that we have. The two potential clients are a company called Fly Right and the second is my old place of employment the San Jose Flea Market. I am excited to work on a commercial for the Flea Market because I still know quite a bit of people that still work there. To me the Flea Market commercial will be challenging because the pulga doesn't have too much to offer but after discussing the ideas with my peers in my group, the ideas started to come. The main idea we came was with a mother & father telling their kids are they ready for the special day. The kids get all excited then the family takes off, they then arrive at the location. They walk and say hello to the two workers then hello to the officer that walks them across the street. Then cut to a scene of the flea market banner, the fmaily says hello to the people in the office, say hello to vendors they know, & they family knows what they want to do there. The professor like the idea, i'm sure with more thought a good idea will derive from this. The other company is called fly right, we didn't really brainstorm this company too much but the one idea we had was a guy picks up his friend from the airport and the guy is constantly tired. After a couple times of this shot the next time the friend is energized and tells the guy who picks him up that he drank the drink from fly right and his jet lag is cured. The professor didn't like this idea all too much but the other group had good ideas for this company so I'm sure a good idea will come up. This class is a lot of fun and I know it will be challenging but a good learning experience. Looking forward to the weekend, I have work, then an interview with a rock band, spend time with family & friends.
-Peace
